I've weighed the pros and cons and still cannot come to a conclusion. It seems like the Jazzmaster is a more popular guitar, but I haven't heard much wrong with a Jagmaster. First released in 1996, Squier's Jagmaster electric guitar combined design elements of the Fender Jaguar and Jazzmaster in one budget instrument.

Most guitarists interested in more conventional styles such as classic rock, metal, or blues tend to gravitate to classic designs like the Les Paul, Stratocaster and Telecaster or, in the case of metal players, guitars most agree that the inception of the jagmaster is a direct result of kurt cobain having a jaguar with 2 humbuckers installed in it, and a solid ham-fist-applicable bridge installed.
